Installed on a 2004 Chevrolet 2500 with 8.1L Vortec. This increased my gas mileage by about 1mpg on the freeway. It also has a slightly better grip when you hit it with a hammer. It was very easy to install

Absolute rubbish! The seal on the throttle valve keeps flying! If you have a 2500HD 8.1 I STRONGLY advise against buying it! Now my truck drives like garbage because I didn't know it slipped AGAIN!

I love the new power and responsiveness of my truck (2005 Chevy Silverado 8.1L Vortec). I only have one thing stopping this from being 5 stars. A high-pitched whistling noise can be heard in the intake tract at low engine speeds. I think it could be MAS, but I'm not sure if I've read of others having the same issue, so I'm assuming it's a K&N manufacturer issue. I'll keep researching and if I find a solution I'll post it here.

I have a 2002 GMC Sierra 2500HD with 8.1 v8. After installing this part I definitely notice an increase in power as well as a nice growl from the engine when accelerating. The only drop off that seems common is a slight whistle at very low rpm. It's more like a turbocharger. Nothing that would make me reconsider my purchase. K&N definitely fits this type of product.
