I wasn't expecting the cone intake noise.

I did not expect the noise of the cone inlet, but maybe a little more than the standard noise, unfortunately the same noise as the original. It's not worth it

Too much money for a filter and a plastic tube

The photo shows the entire system. The kit comes with a filter, hose and some fittings. This setup will only work if you still have the factory intake box.

and help the entire system breathe better, hoping for an overall gain of around 15 hp.

Definitely increases intake noise at full throttle. It doesn't get any louder at cruising speed on the Autobahn. Can't say for sure if it added horsepower and torque, don't trust the "trouser seat" so I have to trust K&N on this one. Then I add an exhaust and help the whole system breathe better hoping to get around 15hp. for all that. Easy installation. A piece of cake. The instructions are simple. good sentence.
