They are solidly made and spin freely and easily. They are made of metal and are not plastic. I've had and used the plastic ones before and they would get stiff after a while. Received this order as promised. Cheerful delivery man. First thing, the box was open inside the bag and the parts were out of the box. The bag held them and all parts were there. No instructions with the product. You might say, so simple, no instructions needed. The flag does get wrapped around the pole. The pole material is thin. When tightening the holder screw be aware that you won’t know you’re bending the tubing because the holder screw will just keep going. Material not thick enough or stiff enough to stop over tightening. I’m sure it is tangled up right now because it is every time I check it.

Sectional steel pole is sturdy enough (vis-a-vis aluminum), but is slightly smaller than the swivel rings. One would expect closer fit in components of a set sold together. The allen screw securing the rings puts a small dent in the pole. We'll see how durable the assembly is. The biggest issue--the flag does tangle. I was very pleased with this and think it is a fairly good buy. It comes in sections and I initially thought it might weaken the flag pole, but it was surprisingly sturdy. I mounted this and used old holes from a previous flag installation on the two upper screws. This proved to be a mistake due to several factors. What can I say, it's a flagpole kit for mounting on your house, RV, fence, deck, or any other structure that you can drive some screws into. I was excited to have a flag pole that would stop my flag from wrapping around the pole. It worked great inside after I put it together. But I woke up to a wrapped flag once again. The poles are flimsy, it’s on me for buying it. I should of spent more money for a better quality.

This flagpole is not the heaviest gauge metal, but appears substantial enough to hold up to all but the heaviest winds. The included rings have kept the flag from wrapping around the pole in the moderate winds that we've had so far.

We moved into a house with a flag bracket so I made hubby get a flag pole and a USMC flag! He put it together easily and it works as expected! The flag never gets tangled!

Love it so far. Not sure how it's going to hold up to the wind here just north of Chicago but it looks great and it's a foot longer than the wood kind so the flag won't be hitting the house.

Of course, I won't know how good and strong until it's been through a few storms. I found wood and fiberglass poles had to be replaced at least once or twice a year.
