Fun. Spicy. Useful.

I spontaneously bought this lens a few months ago and am very happy with it. I've since connected it to my Fuji XE3 (which I use as a second body for my XT3). It's incredibly fun with my long-nosed dog and came in handy for photographing much larger subjects. The dog-free photos posted here were taken at Kennedy Space Center. It's just manual focus, but most of the time you leave it at infinity, so it doesn't matter. The only real downside is that Lightroom doesn't have a lens profile; I need…

Pros
  • Wide viewing angle of 180 degrees. It is great for photographing landscapes, architecture and fun works.
Cons
  • weak

Really good but could be better

Pros: excellent build quality, soft focus, great compact size, nice packaging and carrying case. Image quality is better than my $500 Sigma full-frame SLR. I can't believe I can get fisheye pics at this price! What could be improved: It has no aperture stops, so it's easy to accidentally rotate the aperture thinking you're focusing. And the dial/aperture numbers are lasered into the barrel in thin, small print and are almost impossible to see on my specimen, especially in the darker lighting…

Pros
  • 7.5mm focal length and f/2.8 maximum aperture
Cons
  • Out of fashion

Maybe mine was defective, but.

I don't know how to react given the other fairly positive reviews. It's actually a solid little lens that feels good in the hand. Unfortunately, that's where the joy ends. The lens hood, which isn't removable but is expected of a lens like this, is attached at the oddest angle. In 20 years of photography I have never seen anything like it. The mount (Fx for Fuji) is NOT flush and does not seat properly allowing the locking pin to snap. The lens snapped, rattled as I held the camera, and when I…

Cons
  • Protection

I highly recommend spending the extra $100-$80 on a Rokinon or Samsyon 7.5mm f/2.8 fisheye lens lens that can actually be used (which Fisheye arguably should never be used for) but seriously. This lens is obviously just a toy to have fun with, as I would expect based on the price, but for $100 and sometimes even $80 more you can get a brand new fisheye from Rokinon that really does the trick. shell out $140+ for these Kens because you're not even getting photos that are acceptable as friend…
