Description of 89019088 Resistor Avalanche Silverado 2003 2006

The blower motor resistor is an electrical component that is a part of the vehicle's heating and air conditioning system. It is responsible for controlling the blower motor’s fan speed. When fan speed is changed via the knob on the instrument cluster, the blower motor resistor changes setting, which changes the speed of the blower motor. This Blower Motor Resistor Kit fits for 2003 - 2006 Cadillac Escalade ESV, EXT; for Chevrolet: 2003 - 2006 Avalanche 1500,2500, 2003 - 2006 Silverado 1500,1500 HD, 2003 - 2006 Silverado 2500,2500 HD, 2003 - 2006 Silverado 3500,3500 HD, 2003 - 2006 Suburban 1500,2500, 2003 - 2006 Tahoe; for GMC: 2003 - 2006 Sierra 1500,1500 HD, 2003 - 2006 Sierra 2500,2500 HD, 2003-2006 Sierra 3500,3500 HD, 2003 - 2006 Yukon, 2003 - 2006 Yukon XL 1500,2500. Replaces Part Numbers: 89019088, 973-405, 15-81086, 1580582, 1581086, 22807123, 89018308, 89018596, JA1582, 4P1449, BMR14, 2400-301861, RU571. Please check your OEM part number before you order it. As the fan speed is one of the most frequently adjusted settings of the air conditioning system, the blower motor resistor is put under constant stress, which can cause it to eventually fail. A failed blower motor resistor can cause issues with the operation of the entire heating and air conditioning system. The AC Blower Motor Resistor is located on lower passenger side dash and is easily accessible by removing a few screws. A bad or failing blower motor resistor will produce a few symptoms: Blower motor stuck on one speed; Blower motor does not work on certain settings; No air from the vehicle’s vents. As the blower motor resistor is the component directly responsible for powering the blower motor, when it fails it major issues with the blower motor and the heating and air conditioning system can be experienced, Please replace your blower motor resistor in time.

Great Deal: Fan Motors

I thought my air conditioning was failing but then smoke filled the cabin and all hell broke loose. Negative turned positive, I found that was the culprit and changed it a few months ago, now the AC works great, saved a lot of money. I would try that first

Pros
  • Engine Cooling and Air Conditioning
Cons
  • Nothing Here
