The width prevents the power button from working. So you need to turn on the radio, then add the antenna and turn off vice versa. While I like these types of antennas over the stock ones, they are more durable, the switch issue is a disappointment. But now you know and can make your own decision. Excellent antenna. It was possible to hit the repeater at a distance of 20 miles with a power of 0.5 watts. Straight line without obstacles. The only pity is that the lower part is too thick and interferes with the volume control on the FT-60R. I managed to sharpen the tap on the handle but other than that I'm very happy with this antenna. The same repeater with the standard antenna was a bit noisy, so this antenna works great even when folded.

This isn't the best antenna for everyday use due to its size and weight, but if you need to reach out and make contact, it's great . I bought 2 of these for SHTF situations and for the occasional DX use. It connects really hard-to-reach pins and gives repeaters a better signal. It folds down to half its size, but even then it's still a little bulky. Again, not an antenna for everyday use, but a BIG antenna to get results.

I bought one of these antennas hoping to improve the performance of my YAESU VX-6R. I have already replaced my antenna with a Nagoya NA-771; the improved performance; but it hasn't worked out the way I'd like it to. I bought a 72cm/28.3" ABBREE CS foldable tactical antenna and only used it once; only on a relay network. I swapped places with Nagoya; and ABBREE seemed to outperform Nagoya. I'm very pleased so far with this antenna.

I have both 28.3" and 42.5" Abbree antennas. The product is exactly as described. Folds and unfolds very easily. When folded, it is convenient to take with you, especially when hiking. The impressive 28.3 or 42.5 inches (US) are unfolded, as described. Comes with a cell phone rubber washer that leaves a gap when screwing the antenna on - a nice touch. Well made and seems very durable. I look forward to years of use. With these antennas I get clear transmissions that I can't even hear otherwise.

I use this antenna on my Yaesu FT-270. Definitely better than the OEM rubber dummy. I bought a 28 inch antenna. The tape measure section is 25 inches and the base is 3 inches.
