I did not give this 5 stars because I had problems with the adhesive which others have reported does not stick very well. My solution is to drill them into the sides of the windows with wood screws.

Arrived earlier than expected. I had no problems with the glue because the AC has 4 screws just for that. I removed the screws, applied glue and screwed it back to the AC box (not the wall) to hold it in place.

These panels are approximately medium wide. They are larger so you can trim them down to the perfect size. The material is something like hard rubber so they don't tear when you cut them. I used scissors to cut. Ordinary scissors might work. They are flexible so they can be slotted into grooves. They arrived quickly. I definitely got my money's worth.

I really liked those accordion shaped side panels on the air conditioner. I thought I would have to trim them down a bit but they ended up fitting perfectly on either side of my air conditioner. Also, the adhesive strips on both sides are VERY VERY strong strips that stick easily and don't come off. So if you put them on either side of the device, make sure they're in the right place before you press them down. Very happy with this item.

My window air conditioner is over 10 years old. However if you google the unit and find the OEM number for the side blinds. Required $80-100 for real curtains. They are great, just the right length for a small (5000 BTU) AC window unit. Just throw away the old ones. Cover them up. Measure twice, cut once. I'm deducting a star because it was a pain in the butt to cut them off once. They are sturdy and use scissors. Let's just say I had to expand it and use a utility knife instead.

Very happy with the product used to replace the side panels; The instructions show how to cut with scissors. It doesn't work at all. I used straight aviation shears that could cut thin sheet metal and it worked like a charm. Reviews of this product said the self-adhesive tape didn't stick very well so I used the body side molding tape over the tape that came with the product. It was a 1/2" 3M product and was perfect for my situation.

If you are looking for an inexpensive and easy solution to extend your window vent to a larger window then this may be the product for you. We have a large 45" window and couldn't find a window vent that pops out to fit that size window. We finally settled on a fan and looked for a solution to bridge the gap. I have a Chubby Cat door that is exactly 15 7/8 inches long and 28 inches wide. It was made to order for someone's window (just not our window). I was looking for a material to fill in the side gaps to customize it for our windows and AC side panels seemed like the perfect solution and they are. They are easily cut with a very sharp quality pair of scissors. Just be sure to line up each end before you measure or cut. The panels will not be flush at both ends and your measurements will be wrong.
