I love my antenna. As it is a magnet it was very easy to attach it to the car and thread the cable through the trunk to the center front of the car I am impressed with the reception I get from my PRO-164 which I plug it in. Sitting in the parking lot in my 2002 Impala I heard reviews of how people liked the antenna and now I see people all over town with the same antennas attached to trunk lids I think I'm a trendsetter now.

antenna works great despite its simplicity. I use it with a very basic handheld scanner in the car and it picks up signals from all over the city. It sits on the roof of my car and runs at over 80 mph. However, the packaging is tricky - you have to be careful not to cut anything. Also, the rubber tip at the end is easy to remove and the antenna will flex under any weight. It's still great for the price and would recommend it to a friend.

This significantly improved the signal quality. I removed the OEM retractable antenna and installed it, literally gluing it to the top of the scanner itself, and immediately the pop and transmit noise went away and the sound from distant signal sources increased. Originally bought for my car and permanently installed there, I was amazed at how much better the factory indoor antenna is!

I bought this to use on my sailboat until I realized I could have a usable antenna about 43 feet up the mast for my VHF radio. And I was right, it works perfectly. So I put this on my truck and it works really well. For example, I can track planes at Jax Int Airport, which is about 48 miles from me. I'm also very good at catching public transport. Picked it up in my truck in November 2016 for use with the Uniden 246T scanner. I am a licensed ham radio operator and have a ham radio operator in my truck. While ham radio isn't really designed for high speed scanning like a dedicated scanner, when I installed this antenna on the Uniden I compared what I was able to pick up with my Kenwood and what I was able to pick up with the Uniden. 4 stars because I expected it to perform significantly better than the rubber ducky but only got mediocre…
