The best dye for Dexcool!

This product has worked very well. He dyed Dexcool lime green. Although I think this bottle can handle more than one cooling system. There was some dye in the system which I then washed off with water and even the water had a green cast to it. Gel formation did not occur. great product

Pros
  • Nice packaging
Cons
  • Easy to repair

Hard to find paint in Revain

The paint bottle used to check the cooling system needs to be replaced. Grossly inflated prices online and usually required to buy in multiples of 6 or more. For a shade tree mechanic like me, that was unwise. Revain stocked the dye in individual bottles at a reasonable price. The composition corresponds to that of the ultra-expensive versions. Thanks Revane for a format suitable for a small person doing their own repairs.

Pros
  • Hands free operation

I used the car during the day and went there with my flashlight. It was evident that coolant was leaking from a crack in the thermostat. I have replaced the thermostat and coolant pump which requires draining the coolant. Even after that and after topping up, the coolant appears light green. Blue BMW coolant. I…

Works better than expected

I have been struggling with a slow coolant leak in my 1990 pickup for almost 10 years. It only leaks when the engine is hot and there is pressure in the cooling system, but I couldn't find it. When it arrived I applied paint and drove for a while then parked the truck for the night. The next day I took my IR light and started searching and when I crawled under it I saw a bright green glow hidden under the heater hoses where the connection to the firewall was. The area below them glowed a very…
