Suitable for exchange: Spare parts

Suitable for exchange of LS. The only problem is that it reads 4-5 degrees higher than the original temperature reading in 5.3. But it's not really a problem.

Pros
  • High quality construction
Cons
  • Small parts

Highly recommend: Coolant Temp

I've been looking for this sensor at my local parts store and they kept getting wrong but this one was perfect for my 243 head replacement.

Pros
  • Best in the niche
Cons
  • I won't say anything

Replacement LQ4 Squarebody

If you are replacing your squarebody motor with an LQ4 this is a very good choice. It can send temperature readings to the engine ECM as well as the temperature sensor in your squarebody.

Replace Temperature Sensor Ls

Used to use the third wire for my c10 sensor cluster with ls replacement. Worked fine but the sensor is not 100% accurate due to the resistance difference with the c10 sensor. The readings are slightly lower than actual.

Pros
  • New
Cons
  • Slightly cracked

Good quality part

This transmitter unit does what it was designed to do. My application is a replacement 1986 Chevy K10. It tells the computer what it needs to know and has a wire that works with my factory temp sensor. It reads coldly, but that's not the fault of the details. It was designed for later vehicle models that use a different drag range than older GM vehicles. I'm happy to have a good indicator of what my engine is doing.

Pros
  • Very good price
Cons
  • Unbelievable price
