Saturn The ignition cylinder is not equipped with keys. The key was made from the key code and the new key worked perfectly in the old ignition so the old key just wore out.

This lock is a decent replacement for the old worn out lock on a 2000 Saturn S 4 door sedan. This replacement is a fairly simple task. You can code a new lock to match the original or code a new key for a new key. I decided to code it as an exact replacement.

The mechanic was unable to access the key coding instructions. He's going to have to search harder for that information, and if he can't find it, I'll most likely have to drive 90 miles into town to find someone who can "code" it. Clearer product instructions would help a lot.

When I pulled out and replaced the original cylinder there was a distinct click as the rod engaged preventing the cylinder from coming out. This was not the case with this article. I don't know if it's longer than OEM or bigger or what. but that's not quite right. I'm afraid I might have trouble removing this as pressure could be put on the bar?
