🔋 ACDelco GM OE 178-0683 Power Brake Booster Assembly Review

Got through three repair chains from auto parts dealers with 2 years "lifetime" guarantee - leaks, a wobbly pedal, steering jerks when braking, everything was observed. The difference in performance was immediately apparent. In retrospect, the price difference was negligible. How much is your time and security worth to you?

I bought a refurbished Napa and the pedal went straight to the floor and got stuck so I pulled it back and the lever popped right out of its socket. If it happened on the street, I wouldn't have brakes. It's not the easiest part to install so I was very happy to see an OEM part for the same price. Worked great.

Ice Auto Parts pulled the wrong part on the first shipment. When I saw the box I knew something was wrong. They sent a shock. I emailed them about it and received an RMA the next day and Ice Auto shipped the correct part overnight. Once I had the right part, it was a pretty easy swap. I've been driving for three weeks with no problems.

Put this in my 2003 commuter Chevy and the brake booster is now working normally again with no leaks. I first tried using a Recovery Seal Kit and that didn't work. I'm not new to working on things and have done a very good job, but the gaskets in most gasket kits are old and dry from sitting on the shelves for years.
