Bank Bleed - Master Cylinder

Installation was easy. Bleeding on the bench is necessary but easy to do. There was a slight leak after installation, a little tightening seemed to stop it, but some teflon tape might be a better idea.

Pros
  • Pressure Tested for Safe, Smooth Braking
Cons
  • Unreliable

Looks like a quality replacement

Looks like a quality replacement. Just don't forget to bleed before installing. I wish I knew Bendix is the OEM for my Jeep because I know Bendix are decent quality. Should have gone with them.

Pros
  • Cast iron and aluminum doesn't stress brake booster mount
Cons
  • Not bad

Exchange saves money!

Worked great and saved me a lot of money replacing it myself. Super easy exchange. Watch a YouTube video if you don't know how and save some money! Someone thought I was a "stupid woman" and wanted to charge me over $500 to replace it. Do it yourself ladies.

Pros
  • Geometric tolerance ensures housing and plastic reservoir match
Cons
  • No insurance

Defective article - no guarantee!

Worked great for a month. We don't drive this jeep very often, but after a few rides the brakes gave out. I checked the calipers, pads and lines, no fluid was found. We traced it back to the master cylinder. No liquid was found in the anterior chamber. This passed the return policy so we had to replace it with a unit from the Advance Auto Parts Store.

Pros
  • Geometric tolerance fits body and plastic container
Cons
  • Ugly packaging

Fits my 1998 Jeep Wrangler TJ

My stock master cylinder did NOT fail but had a lot of black corrosive dirt. I was in the process of rebuilding my rear drum brakes (I had a cylinder leak on one side) and figured since I'd have to bleed them I might as well replace the 24 year old master cylinder while I was at it because I figured it could be done anyway soon broken, and why bleed the whole car again, right? Easy installation, took about half an hour including pumping the bench. The item appears to be of good quality. Noโ€ฆ

Pros
  • Pressure tested for safe and secure braking
Cons
  • Broadly OK but...
