Also sell an open socket, man!

It's not Delco's fault that GM put this part in a terrible place and it needs a special tool to make it easier. But they have to sell one as a service pack 😉

Pros
  • High marks for support and durability from testers
Cons
  • Out of fashion

2007 Trailblazer - as expected

Fits my 2007 4.2L Trailblazer as expected. This part was difficult to replace due to its location on the passenger side in the rear of the unit. I only saw it through a mirror, and it was possible to remove it only through a non-standard 15mm head. I bought a cheap outlet and cut part of the wall out of the outlet (like the oxygen sensor socket) to allow the wire to go through. 3 months and no problems.

Pros
  • Sturdy construction
Cons
  • Clear

Perfect part but difficult to assemble

Genuine GM part. Perfect fit and functionality. I had to modify the deep 15mm socket by cutting a longitudinal slot in it to allow the sensor cable to be glued in. There may be room for a crowfoot wrench, but it should be narrow. Except for this obstacle - it's just being screwed. About a pint of coolant leaked during the change - not too bad.

Pros
  • Great price
Cons
  • Small details

Better and more accurate - coolant temperature

I got a cheaper unbranded sensor that worked but not as it should. The resistance it had was not compatible with my truck and it showed a temperature of 1/4 (meaning it's colder) and took longer to register the temperature. Thus, the fuel-air ratio was unbalanced, leading to large gas losses. So I got the original AC delco and now the temperature is halved and the fuel economy has improved dramatically. Uses much less gas. I recommend this one.

Pros
  • Everything is fine!
Cons
  • The list will be long.

Make sure you need it and where it is

Due to the relocation on my 2007 Trail Blazer from under the t-stat body to the area further the passenger side in the back part of the block I could not replace this part. Very difficult access initially, not to mention the metal coolant line to the cabin heat exchanger is 1/2 inch above. Not something that should only be changed as part of the low coolant temperature warning code. Fortunately, replacing the static/fuselage assembly solved the low engine temperature issue. The temperature is…

Pros
  • Inspires confidence
Cons
  • I really have no complaints about it, everything is fine

Great quality, OEM with OEM fit and features

Worked like a charm, heat shield was better than my truck. A non-working temperature sensor means one of two things: either the temperature sensor is dead or the thermostat. If you've replaced the thermostat and your pressure gauge still doesn't work, replace the sensor. Here are some helpful installation tips: This sensor is located on the rear of the engine on the passenger side opposite the bulkhead. Pry the wire harness and remove it from the block. Using a small flathead screwdriver, press
