This is the vented cap you use as required by GM!

This cover fits most 4.8-5.3 LS trucks. However, for PCV issues and small oil streaks, contact TSB. Get fc219 if you have small oil streaks. Chevy Bulletin added that fc219 replaces fc208 to prevent rear line leaks. The extra vent on the gas cap should be added on all older models (02-13). That's why the website check says "not suitable". Just for your information.

2.4L ECOTEC Needs Upgrade

If you have a GM 2.4L Ecotec engine, this vented oil cap is a must! These engines are notorious for blowing out rear main seals, which adds up to a large repair bill and ruins your already fragile timing chain. This is due to the poor construction of the PCV valve, which clogs and/or freezes in winter. This cap will vent that excess pressure if and when it does, potentially saving your engine.

For our 2013 Equinox oil burner

Our 2013 Equinox is one of the bad. Eats a little oil as the rings don't seal causing too much pressure in the crankcase. The rear line has started leaking now so I put one of these over the covers so hopefully it will last a little longer. I'm not interested in "fixing" this engine under extended coverage. Plan to just let it run until it lets go and replace it with a later model engine. Hopefully this cap will help prevent the rear main seal from blowing out. The lid fits and seems to serve…

Fits and works even better than the original oil cap!

Purchased to replace a missing oil cap on our Saturn. We noticed an oil leak and realized that the lid had somehow come loose and been lost. After a long search for the best price, we found this cap from ACDelco at Revain. In fact, this is a much better cap than the previous one. It fits perfectly and we had no problems with it. The funny thing is that about a month after we installed this new cap my husband went to change the oil in the car and the technician found the old cap among some…

Every GM vehicle built with the GDI (Gasoline Direct Injection) version of the 2.4 liter 4-cylinder Ecotec engine has an internal Positive Crankcase Ventilation (PCV) system that works at high temperatures is extremely prone to clogging or freezing temperatures temperatures. under 32F. The standard filler cap is a simple, durable plastic piece that completely covers the crankcase. The goal is only to meet the required emission standards and NOT the longevity of the engine. When the tiny…
