Bought this pump about 3 months ago.

I bought this pump about 3 months ago in May 2016. A few days ago it started leaking and I mean leaking around the metal case. Too many return problems. Today I ordered a new pump from another manufacturer.

Pros
  • Permanent test results
Cons
  • The list is getting long.

Exact replacement for 2007 GEM E2

This fits my 2007 GEM E2 EV perfectly. Easy installation with the same electrical connection. Washer/gasket included but there was no screw on the filter. The filter is threaded to hold the pump in place. The pump has a matching thread. Save the original filter for reuse.

Pros
  • Previously Satisfied
Cons
  • Damaged

Good replacement for my old rusty broken pump.

Ignore other reviews that installation is difficult. It's pretty easy. Place the pump with the spout on the bottom of the tank, turn it upside down and screw on the filter, locking it in place with a long ratchet extension and a 19mm or 20mm deep socket (can't remember exactly which). ). Comes with a new ground wire that attaches to the same firewall screw and reuses the existing power wire.

Pros
  • Durable finish
Cons
  • Upgrades

Metal cover fell off during installation

Installation is a bit tricky but a deep muff helps. The metal motor housing on my original 1983 pump was riveted to the plastic pump housing. This uses three soft metal tabs bent over the plastic to hold it in place. I'll probably seal it somehow before installing it. The loose piece of metal above the electric motor that will live in the engine bay under the caustic tank needs all the help it can get to keep this thing alive. My intuition says don't expect another 35 years of service.

Pros
  • Great price
Cons
  • Big and bulky
