I bought this to view my photos on a large TV without draining my camera's battery. It works well because I needed it and I can view my photos in large format without draining my camera's battery.

I don't have a laptop and my desktop monitor doesn't have a webcam. This adapter allowed me to use my Canon camera as a webcam (using free Canon software) without draining the battery during a meeting.

I was skeptical at first but after receiving the product I was very happy with it. I work a lot with trees and love filming them and my camera killed the batteries like nothing happened. Put this bad guy in my Canon T6 and Boom! It worked perfectly and there were no problems with it. I recommend it as a permanent power source for any camera.

All of these adapters are made in essentially the same way. None of them will stand up to the daily mobile abuse. If you use it remotely with a lot of customization, consider buying a second one or replacing it. Mine is used in a static studio and should last for years. Well, as many reviews say. I connected everything, turned on the camera, caught fire for about a second, then everything just flickered. I've tried many different steps to make sure everything is snug and secure in the battery compartment, but to no avail. Customer service referred me 3 times to people who had no idea what they were talking about and I ended up telling them to just refund my money. Save time and hassle, buy the one designed for your camera for $70. That's what I do.

Works as expected with Canon EOS Rebel T3. As another reviewer mentioned, the camera's battery door must be closed for it to work. UPDATE March 2019: I've only used the adapter 3 times in the 2 years since I bought it, but it no longer works properly. The EOS utility hangs every time I try to time series with the adapter attached, but it works fine with the OEM battery installed.
