Excellent quality accessories

I think that a temperature sensor is really necessary in modern controllers. They can all benefit from adding temperature readings to their algorithms. Even in air-conditioned environments, overheat monitoring is another useful and potentially important process, if not for maximum efficiency then for safety. This probe is relatively inexpensive and opens up an extended range of functions for the controller. 5 Stars.

Pros
  • The best in its niche
Cons
  • Crumpled

External Temperature Sensor

Summary: Ordered for use with ACOPOWER 40A Midas MPPT Controller. An external sensor allows the temperature to be measured away from the MPPT, either on batteries or on a solar panel (or somewhere else, maybe on a device). Pros: Good fit and finish. but the seller answered my question with 3 meters. Both ends of the cable don't seem to be very waterproof, probably wrap tape around both ends to seal it better. Conclusion: 4 stars for 15โ‚ฌ.

Pros
  • Heavy Duty
Cons
  • Without Automatic Controller

Does what it's supposed to do exactly

Much more accurate than the sensor built into my charge controller, probably because it can be placed directly on the battery case rather than measuring ambient air temperature. The plug wiring of the connector is a little flimsy but has the benefit of being easier to cut to length and reattach to the connector. After cutting the cable short, I lubricated the cores with flexible sealant for strain relief. Seems to be holding up after a few months of use. Incidentally, this does not only workโ€ฆ

Pros
  • Delivery was very quick
Cons
  • There are new competitors

A truly essential part of ANY solar control system

This is a must have for any solar system. Overheating the batteries wears them out or just ruins them. With four batteries costing about nine hundred dollars, each cannot be replaced cheaply. So a $15 part that plugs right into the solar system controller and then connects to the batteries where the controller constantly monitors the temperature and when it detects the temperature is getting too high automatically shuts down the controller system and lets you know. . . is a problem. Ensuringโ€ฆ

Pros
  • Sturdy construction
Cons
  • Not bad

Works great with ACOPOWER Midas 40A MPPT charge controller

I installed a solar power station in my shed for lighting and a small inverter to run some power tools. Since there is no environmental control in the barn, I needed this ACOPOWER battery temperature sensor to have the charge controller charge the batteries at the correct voltage, which is compensated according to the temperature of the batteries, as temperature ranges can be extreme here. I checked that the temperature sensor is working properly with the charge controller as my batteries wereโ€ฆ

Pros
  • Easy to read control panel
Cons
  • Pretty much everything is fine
