He's not white but hey gotta love instant cycling.

It's definitely not pure white - it's a creamy beige. But it still looks great in my tank next to my all black river layer substrate. He lit the tank almost instantly. The next day I added shrimp and snails with no problem. This will cloud the water, so run the filter for 24 hours before adding animals.

Not as advertised in aquarium substrate

I bought two pounds of this product advertised as 'white sand'. While the first 1 pound was white, the second pound was clearly gray and not just a slightly different color. These are at least 4-5 different shades, and the second pound, standing alone, is clearly not white. Even mixed in my aquarium this sand will not be white. I am not at all satisfied with this product.

It's the best product for your fish

Arrives wet. it is said to contain microbes that keep the fish environment healthy for that aquarium. Sand is easier to clean because everything light is washed off at the factory, and what the fish leaves behind is scooped up with a net. I chose white. and it seems like a good choice. Beta versions handle it well. and i'm pretty happy.

Pros
  • Inspires confidence
Cons
  • Modern

Big! Tiny. Fair price!

Not a very big bag but what I paid for! It took me two bags to fill my 2.5 gallons to a considerable height. I like to submerge my plants and decorations in water, so I prefer 3-5" sand. I suggest buying a larger and more expensive bag if you have a much larger tank, and if you have a much smaller tank than 2, 5, please do your fish a favor and buy them a bigger tank first.

Pros
  • Nice design
Cons
  • Almost ok

Great substrate with freshwater sand!

I bought half a dozen of these sandbags. What I like best is that it is real sand and not "aquarium sand". They come in a nice bag of water that is said to contain bacteria (I doubt it), but it's real sand, which you'll find if you dig for sand on the river bank. Remember that it must be rinsed before use; Plant parts and other unwanted objects are mixed into the sand. The only other note I would like to make is that this is real sand (not crushed gravel), fish waste will stick to it and be…

Pros
  • Delivery was very fast
Cons
  • Crumpled
