Good if you're not in a hurry

I followed the directions for the product with the most water. I died blue too. Results: It took almost a week to dry! It was summer and I expected it to dry faster. The color was consistent and looked exactly as expected. When it dried it was very hard. The downside is that it crumbles easily. I probably won't use it again. It was not an easy product to use.

Best paper mache I've found

I tried all sorts of paper mache recipes and techniques while making some paper mache lanterns for Halloween. I found this product to work the best. You can follow the directions on the back, but I mixed just enough water to get the consistency I wanted. If you have an immersion blender that you don't use for anything else, it's a great tool for breaking up clumps. Another tip: let it dry slowly - don't put it in the heat or it will tear. Good and inexpensive paper clay.

I have never used a wrapped paper mache and am very impressed with this product. I've done several art projects with it and I highly recommend it for creating sculptural objects. The caveat is that it's hard to flatten. So if you want a really smooth finish (I actually like organic textures) you can use pre-made paper clay in small packs.
