Currently not printing.

not very comfortable. So far we have not been able to get this printer to work with the Raspberry Pi. Couldn't print anything. I'm not sure if we have a software or hardware issue.

Pros
  • A dream come true
Cons
  • makes you angry

The printer is very easy to set up and prints very well

The printer is very easy to set up and prints very well. Please note that the power supply and AC adapter (required to power the printer) are not included in the package!

Pros
  • Delivery was very fast
Cons
  • Crumpled

Excellent thermal printer

The printer works fine, no problems, the print was completed in no time. If you are having issues with the quality of your prints (faded or incompletely printed elements), I would recommend checking that the printer's power requirements are being met. I hooked it up to share an Arduino Mega PSU with the recommended outlet and adapter and the prints were poor. After giving the printer its own power supply, it worked exactly as I wanted it to.

Pros
  • Fits many people
Cons
  • Some difficulties

Don't waste your money, works for a short time

Don't buy this thing, print a few times nicely, connected to Arduino, and after say 80 print no more than 10cm print text and line of code then all suddenly does strange things when paper is fed; it pulls back for a while, and when printing, the paper doesn't feed at all. I contact Adafruit and as the 30 day refund period has expired they have no solution and they have no idea what is wrong with this printer.

Pros
  • Elegant design
Cons
  • Long delivery time

Easy to set up and use

I was able to set up and run this module in about an hour with an Arduino Nano. The example code and tutorial on the Adafruit website is correct. I was also able to design a 3D printable case for it, with room for a spare paper roll and a control board for power and Bluetooth connectivity. The libraries are pretty easy to use. It's not directly compatible with the ESC/POS command set, but I don't see that as a bad thing. Just make sure you have a power supply that can handle the current, as…

Pros
  • even an oldie can understand
Cons
  • Some little things
