Just a note to buyers. When the device arrives, you need to remove the two small screws at the top of the interface. Then insert the m-Sata card into the slots and screw to secure it in the device. Once that's done, you can plug it into a USB drive and format it. If you are using this drive with a Compact Flash 2.0 adapter, you must format it as exfat. That's all. Works great with my 1TB EVO drive.

I gave them 4 stars because they work as advertised but fail to install. There are no holes and many components on the non-SSATA side of the mSATA SSD. A similar model from another manufacturer has multiple components on one side, allowing that side to be used for assembly with glue. However, the components need to be somewhere for the block to be a few millimeters thicker, as the components are directly under the SSD and require a taller mSATA SSD connector. This mSATA adapter enabled a drive to be backed up from a computer that failed. It took 3 hours for an 8GB hard drive, but I wasn't checking for bottlenecks and it might just be the hard drive itself. I might even add it as a hard drive in Hyper-V. I've had it for a while and as long as there's no case (board exposed) it's an amazing device. For the latter, for the mSATA drive, I had a micro USB 3.0 surface mount connector that detached from the board. I like this one because it doesn't have that. I even spilled coffee on him. I turned off the computer and pulled it out pretty quickly. Given the open circuit design of the board I thought this was the end. but I cleaned and dried it and it still works! :-D Very nice.
