When I got my new Macbook Pro 16, I needed to upgrade my adapters. It was perfect for connecting my external monitor, my USB hub and when I travel I have all the adapter slots I need to meet my various input needs. It's light and perfect.

I spent hours studying this button before buying it but it was worth it. I don't want the ones that plug into the laptop as that would limit usage. This gives me the flexibility I need to connect an external hard drive, DVD player and flash drives. It gets quite warm, but not hot, when processing large photo files. It's lightweight and easy to use. I would buy this again.

This device gets very hot when plugged in and doing absolutely nothing. The case feels hot. Heat is never a good sign, however the body is made of aluminum which is very efficient at dissipating heat. The device has a small form factor and is quite portable. It is designed in such a way that all supported devices can be connected without interference. I will try to measure the temperature and provide a picture of the case temperature.

Upgrade from 4 to 5 stars. This hub does not work well with my MacBook Pro M1 and Dell XPS laptops. I use it as a desktop dock and switch machines as needed and both work fine. I've also had dedicated gigabit ethernet plugged in all the time and it hasn't let me down. I didn't see any of the issues with the lack of sleep and wake features that others have mentioned. I think it has more to do with your laptop settings than anything else. This thing is compact and powerful. Featured!

I got a new laptop and it doesn't have a VGA port which is one of the main reasons I bought it. However, I've used it for a lot more.
