The kit works great, I recommend getting a friend to help you attach the hinges the way I did as you have to put a lot of pressure on them. That made the work a lot easier. Once the metal was attached the rest of the job was easy. The replacement adhesive is also very easy to attach.

The bracket to hold the springs should have been the manufacturer's choice. This set is perfect, it has the right tools for the job and the glue works well. If only you could figure out a way to compress the springs enough to fit into a metal bracket so you could screw in screws without almost breaking your fingers. Not their fault, but maybe it's an idea for some ingenious technology.

There are at least three sources on the Internet for videos on how to perform repairs. With this kit you can fix that pesky broken hinge on 27" iMacs released in 2012/2013. The iMac was originally mounted on a hinge with metal springs, with plastic washers holding the end/tension of the springs. Washers are locked. Self if only one snaps into place, the remaining spring is not enough to keep the screen upright. As a result, your iMac leans forward and stays there. You can find solutions on eBay
