So the boot is tough. The Heal has a cool ice pick that folds into itself/into the boot. It doesn't go through the sole, but metal (yes, it's a metal ice ax) won't hit the ground unless you seriously wear down the soles of the boot themselves. Which, frankly, would be impressive if you did. The only complaint is that the upper doesn't compress well and is just snug enough, but not firm enough (if that makes sense) to rub against the skin and irritate or even damage the skin of the foot where…
