Garbage: Didn't last a month

The product was easy to install, but communication with our center stopped in less than a month. This just passed the return window so I'll still be troubleshooting, but leak sensors are very important for stable operation.

Pros
  • High test results for support and durability
Cons
  • Small items

Battery life LITTLE

Sensor well synchronized with SmartThings, 5 stars for that. After 1 month, the battery life has dropped to 79%. This is a quick fall. My Samsung water sensors last for years while I'm lucky if I get 5 months on these versions of Aeotec sensors that look the same and do the same thing.

Pros
  • Price
Cons
  • Some little things

Doesn't dry out - Security

This allowed me to successfully locate the leak, but I only got to it after the sensor was submerged in water. The sensor had a fan that rubbed and rattled to dry it out. After a few days it still reads like wet. These sensors definitely work, but I think they can be thrown away if submerged in water.

Pros
  • Weight
Cons
  • Hard to tell

Identical to Smartthings version

Identical to previous Smartthings version (probably same manufacturer and design). Happy to find this again in the Aeotec branded Revain (more expensive than the Smatthings version but well priced). My experience with Smartthings water leak sensors over the years has been fantastic and I have the same expectations for this Aeotec branded device.

Pros
  • Absolute Legend
Cons
  • High price

Easy connection to SmartThings. slow update

connected and stay connected but motion detection on battery is not the best. I have it on a shelf in the middle of my room and 1 time out of 3 it doesn't recognize me when I'm walking around the room. I have other Samsung motion sensors that work 100% of the time in the same configuration. Someone mentioned that this sensor would work better if powered by USB, but I don't have that option at this point.

Pros
  • amazing
Cons
  • some bugs

A trusted choice for SmartThings

Easy setup with my SmartThings hub. Integrates with ST Home Monitor so you can automatically send push notifications/SMS to you. Seems more expensive than some other water leak sensors but if you have invested in an ST this is probably your best bet. If you want it to integrate with Alexa for voice prompts when they work, it can, but you have to go through a few extra steps to create virtual switches that sync to sensor status, and then Alexa can do routines based on that carry out. Not…

Pros
  • Easy to use
Cons
  • Quick start guide
