Speed โ€‹โ€‹Drops out of the box

This drive drops from 18MB/s to 2MB/s with every transfer. The files I transferred had at least two dips in speed each time. In the long run, this meant that transfers that were supposed to take 1 minute could take up to 3 minutes or more. The performance was so out of the box. It's unacceptable that a new product can't deliver target speeds right out of the box. SanDisk used to be a popular storage brand, but with this experience it was clear that something had changed in terms of quality. Iโ€ฆ

Beware of the Security Vault feature

has a pretty good capacity for $$ but is quite slow, and BEWARE of the SAFE STORAGE feature as it password protects the files you insert, but then doesn't recognize your password (I even wrote mine down, made sure no caps were on and double-checked what I typed) and then you can't access the files you're trying to protect and there's no way to reset the password reset and you have to delete the whole thing. USELESS!

Write speed is worse than any known drive I've had, 4.5MB/s (decent read speed at 35MB/s)

I was looking for a cheap drive and I came up with 2.0 -Speeds happy, but write speeds of 4.5MB/s, which is way worse than a cheap free drive. The read speed is a decent 35MB/s. This drive would be fine if you rarely write to it and use it mostly for reading - or if you don't care about write speeds. This is the last SanDisk drive I will be buying, I have 3 of them and they all suck at write speeds. .
