Plug and play for Linux and Windows 10 machines

Bought 2.1 for an old 2012 machine (Core 2nd Gen!) I'm using Ubuntu 20 as a dev box for my robot toys. I put the other in a 2019 build with a 9th Gen Core i7 and Nvidia 2070 Ti. Both were immediately recognized by the operating system without a driver update and both worked great. I don't know why the boards didn't work on some browsers. Are you not connected to the network? You MUST power it with a chassis fan connector (big old plastic white 4-pin Molex connector). The ports on the card…

Pros
  • Many will fit
Cons
  • No form needed

Works great on Linux, problem on Windows

Installed easily on Linux, Debian 9 with no problems. Windows 7 had problems. This is normal for Windows, as most hardware is amenable to customization. In the end the drivers turned out to work fine from there. Most of the complaints are related to Windows drivers. The real problem is the Windows hardware detection.

Pros
  • Feels good
Cons
  • Hard to remember but it was

This requires a molex connection.

Doesn't seem like a problem. For older PCs this is a great product. But unless you have something new, you won't have Molex connectors in your computer. I'm a computer engineer, this is why it happens on an old computer. However, most buyers will be unaware of the actual connectors available on their power supply. I felt it needed to be said. If you have a new computer, get one that doesn't require this connection. If your PC is a few years older than 5+, this might work for you. check your…

  • Not cheap but decent

Recommended driver does not work

The manufacturer recommended driver does not recognize the expansion card and does not install drivers on Windows 10. I have searched the internet for other driver versions and they seem to install but do not run at startup. Windows installs its own driver, which sometimes works. With this expansion card installed, my system reboots every time I select Windows to shut down. I have to manually turn off the switch on the PSU to turn it off just before rebooting. Very annoying and this problem is…

Not plug and play for me

The description says "Compatibility: Works great with Windows XP 32/64, Windows 7 32/64, Windows 8, Windows 8.1, Windows 10" and "Fully Plug -n-Play and is compatible with hot-swapping." To the questions "Do you need drivers?" the answer was "Yes, you need them. Please refer to this: (website). If you can't open it , please email us for more information Seller Aideepen 09/14/2020" This card will not install with Windows 10 for me. I couldn't install the drivers either. I couldn't find…

Pros
  • Quick replacement
Cons
  • Dull packaging

Works with anything USB, no Molex connector

It won't even power a mouse or flash drive when no Molex is connected. Other cards feed hard drives without them. The product page should state clearly that this is required. I bought it for a computer without outdated power connectors. I would have to hack to use this.

Pros
  • Absolute Legend
Cons
  • Nothing

Didn't work with Win 10 Pro - even with drivers installed

This device did not work with Windows 10 Pro. I installed both Molex and 20-pin connectors and neither of the USB ports on the front panel (over the 20p connector) or the dual USB ports on the card. I even downloaded and installed the drivers - no difference. The "about" description says Win 10 is supported, but the product description below doesn't say Win 10 is supported - very confusing.

Pros
  • Easy to read control panel
Cons
  • Long delivery time
