Fits SMD block as described. However, it doesn't get as hot as the original iron. The only reason I kept it was because he gave me a piece that broke on the original iron. If my original iron didn't work again, I would return it.

This iron works well on my Mark Ethan 852D+. It appears that this is no worse than the original iron that came with the kit. With my heavier tip, the iron heats up in about 45 seconds. The supplied tip is too good for my work, but can easily be exchanged for my original iron tip. Time will tell if the iron will withstand the factory conditions, but for now I don't see any problems.
