Works as advertised

I have used this product on my truck for a year to ensure that no one can connect to my OBD without my knowledge. Works as advertised. I will buy another one for my wife's car.

Cons

Total waste of $100

It was securely latched but the dealer was able to pull it out without difficulty or damage. It connected to the ODB2 port before I could stop it.

Pros
  • Pleasant to use

Cheap plastic is the best anti-theft

The product is made of plastic and is quite cheap. I bought it when the VW Diesel gate came out. I don't want people messing with my car's computer without my knowledge. This will only stop honest people (like most castles).

Pros
  • Few competitors
Cons
  • Nothing

I feel like I have some protection from uninvited snoopers.

I feel like I have some protection from uninvited spies looking through my data, but I was a bit disappointed to find out that the locking device was plastic and a bit tricky to install. Feel better knowing I have some privacy control. I'll be buying another one for my truck soon.

Pros
  • New
Cons
  • Some shortcomings

Cloggs the port, does not prevent full access.

Works great when the data port is blocked; The problem is that in most crash reconstructions, the "black box" (aka SDM, EDR, etc.) is physically removed from the vehicle. They are centrally located and secured with just 3 small bolts. Once removed, the data download cable plugs directly into it, and voila, your data is pulled into a computer operated by either insurance companies or law enforcement.

Pros
  • Works great for me
Cons
  • So far so good

Do yourself and your loved ones a favor... get it today!

I bought this product it was so easy to install! I thought $100 was a small price to pay for security and peace of mind... and damn, I was right! I am really amazed at the quality of this product! I rarely leave reviews but since there is a HUGE difference with the new version I had to share it so people know how awesome it is. I will also buy for my husband's car! Thanks for a great product!

Pros
  • practical item
Cons
  • update available
