Airtex 4206 Mechanical Fuel Pump Review

Part arrived two days early, installed with no problems (except missing a new gasket) and still works. quality product and service.

the metalwork is a bit poorly finished. Burrs on screws etc. e. The original box and manufacturer's box is unacceptable for transport, the pump came through the side of the manufacturer's box, had to send the first one back, also the replacement unit was poorly packed, but it works perfectly.

I bought this for a 1956 Ford Victoria and it fits perfectly. The one I picked up had a glass bulb at the bottom, but I couldn't find a glass replacement. The screw locations on this one are exactly the same, so if you have a lightbulb it will fit this fuel pump.

The pump didn't have a new mounting gasket, so I can't install it until I have the gasket. Others who bought this item received the spacer because I asked for it in the comments section before ordering. It remains to be seen if it works properly until I get the gasket and install it on my Ford Fairlane.

So far so good for my 1958 Ford (332 V8). One of the existing pump's internally pressed check valves was slightly loose and simply impossible to repair. So a replacement was needed. Haven't ridden long distances yet but this new one seems to work fine. Let's hope the government-approved imitation methanol fuel they're telling us to use doesn't eat the innards of this new one! :-)

I bought an airtex 4206 fuel pump for a 1957 Ford Fairlane with a 5.1 engine. The pump did not pump gasoline. I called Airtex support to see if this is the correct pump or if there might be another option. When I explained what was wrong to the support guy, he said to send it back under warranty. I tried to ask him another question and he replied that he would send it back under warranty. Airtex is rude and useless and I will not buy their product again. I would give them -5 but I couldn't.
