Fixed Code P402 in 1999 Toyota Tacoma 2.7L

I have a 1999 Toyota Tacoma 2.7L with a persistent code P402 and sluggish acceleration. I tried a few different things that didn't work, but this vacuum switching valve solved the problem immediately. The part is light enough to be swapped out for independent work. The VSV is bolted to the intake manifold. It's a little tight in there, but straight ahead. I removed the wire harness bracket to make room. An easy job, maybe 15 minutes not counting the time it takes to find it and remove theโ€ฆ

saved me! Cured Code 0402.

Perfect fit for my 2001 Tacoma 2.7L 3RZ-FE. I suddenly got code 0402 and a lot of mechanics are suggesting this part as it's a common failure on old Tacomas. You were right. This part cured my code 0402 problem. It is difficult to replace as it is located low under the intake manifold, but I was able to squeeze my hand and wrist low enough to make a replacement after initial frustration. This part fits exactly like the OEM part. I've included a few photos of the part because I've had troubleโ€ฆ

2004 Toyota Tacoma Pre-Runner P0401 DTC Fix

Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC) P0401 Exhaust Gas Recirculation Insufficient Flow Code Detected. This part was an exact replacement for an OEM part. Removing and replacing the part was pretty easy. Disconnect the electrical connector from the original valve (it's stuck because the valve is below the intake valve), then loosen a Phillips head screw that secures the valve to the bracket. I found it easier to remove the valve back to the firewall paying attention to how the hoses were routed andโ€ฆ
