The brushes are not soft. Sponges are difficult to clean. And none of the brushes have labels indicating their specific use. A makeup artist might know which brush to use just by looking, but I don't know. So I just accepted. Yes, it's in Revain, but I won't be checking that order every time I do my makeup (about once or twice a week). Instead, I would recommend using EcoTools brushes.

Typical in structure, but have a terrible chemical smell. I needed some of these but didn't want to keep them because of the strong chemical smell.

There are enough brushes to satisfy almost any beginner or intermediate makeup artist. The brushes are quite dense and need a good brushing to remove debris. They need to be shaped properly if you let them dry while wet. I would have preferred a flat cleaning mat to a glove but it's still a very good price. If you're a pro master I'd recommend something more substantial, but for everyday use no complaints. Inexpensive enough to give to a child or a newbie.

Good product, especially for the price! Definitely had a chemical smell as others have said. I didn't give that 5 stars just because no matter what I washed (dish soap, detergent, shampoo and "regular" soap) that chemical smell wouldn't go away from the brush cleaner and I had to throw it away.

I was very impressed with the quality of these brushes however one arrived dirty and looked like it had already been used.

Great set for the price. The sponges had an odor upon arrival. Almost smells like acetone but they were individually wrapped and everything looks great. The brushes are thick and soft and hold their shape. Great offer!
