Looks well made and durable. Unfortunately, the mechanism that allows you to fix the cable when it is pulled out of the device's body does not work. This keeps the rope wanting to curl up, and the only way to keep the rope taut is to wedge it under a car tire or wrap it around a bush. I bought the device in April and have only used it four or five times. It worked right out of the box. After about 6 months, the middle connector has somehow bent inwards so that I can no longer put anything in it. After 10 months the lock stopped working so when pulling it out I had to attach something to the cord to keep it from rolling back. I should also add that the cord can't have been pulled more than a few dozen times at this point. Update - I opened it up today to see if I can get the lock working again.
