It's 3 ounces, not three 8 ounce cups.

I liked everything about it, but was disappointed with my American idea of what a mug is. Technically, a shot of espresso is 1 ounce, so 3 cups. But even my mocha cups weigh 1.5 ounces, so it's basically a 2-shot espresso maker. Which is only good for me. Not so good if you serve a corporation. I gave it 4 stars because none of the questions appear in the listing description. The description isn't wrong, it's just not what most would think. Otherwise it's worth the money, especially when…

Perfect pot for making espresso and mocha on the stovetop

Over the years I've had many espresso brew pots, different styles, brands and sizes. Without a doubt, this one is the best. The design is so elegant and attractive, and it's durable. The handle is positioned in such a way that you cannot burn your knuckles when lifting the pot. When the lid is open, it does not drip onto the stove. Nice design, a definite improvement over the standard moka pot

Alessi is a definite improvement over the standard moka pot in several ways. First and foremost, coffee is better. I read about it in reviews but was a bit skeptical until I tried it. It produces a rich, full-bodied cup of demitasse power without the burnt notes I always got from my old moka. Also, unlike the Mok, it constantly uses up all the water in the base, while the Mok's pot starts to splash and gurgle after using only half the water.
