Excellent Replacement Charcoal Filters

These are great for replacing air filters. It comes in one large sheet and can be cut to fit almost any application. I've used them as air filter plugs and would rather spend the crazy money they want on a replacement I just made myself. Unbeatable for the price, thumbs up 👍

Pros
  • Excellent Overall Performance
Cons
  • Almost Fine

This filter smells like rubber or factory oil, I do not recommend it!

Good price, good size because it's huge but it has a stinky smell that won't go away. I use it in my honeywell air filter and there is a rubber or oil factory smell in the room. I wouldn't recommend it and wish I could spend more money on a pre-filter that doesn't smell pretty funny. Buy a genuine filter sold by the air filter company you bought your unit from because I wish I could.

Pros
  • Large selection
Cons
  • No mold required

DON'T BUY FAKE CARBON FILTERS

Trash NO CARBS AT ALL, doesn't filter anything GENUINE Lowes NO HEPA activated carbon filter just 2 sheets and blew out cigarette smoke and 90% of the odor. So the item could be counterfeit, cheap or just a carbon filter pre-filter. just don't waste your money on it. I don't understand how other people give this 4-5 stars when it doesn't work. Buy it and see for yourself.

  • Worth the money

No deodorizing effect!

At first I wasn't satisfied with the fineness. So I had to double the leaves in my air purifiers. I also installed it in a range hood to reduce cooking smell. I am very sensitive to odors and I am usually aware of the air quality in my home and have been using air purifiers for over 20 years. Now that I have installed/used this filter for many months, I am becoming more and more convinced of my earlier suspicions that it really isn't odor filtering. I don't know how to test activated charcoal…

Seems to work for me

I tried this filter over my existing two stove filters to remove some odors from our townhouse. The smells seemed to go away within 2 1/2 months and gradually reappeared. I have to assume the carbon filter is the reason they left. The advantage is that unlike carbon filters, oven filters do not become clogged with dust, hair and dirt. This way I can save some money by keeping the oven filters on longer. I just installed my second batch of carbon filters. It will be interesting to see if the…

Works great for getting smoke out of the air from western fires!

Bought this in the Spring to replace a small filter in the cabin of my Scion. It worked great for that, but where it really shines is in getting the smoke out of my house from all the fires in every western state. I have a very small house and just opening and closing the doors to go to work brings in enough smoke to make us all sneeze and cough. So I took out a box fan, taped the rest of that filter to the back of the box fan and let it run in the middle of the house for a couple of hours and…

Pros
  • Can be cut to fit air purifiers, range hoods and oven filters
Cons
  • Lots of stuff

Do yourself a favor and get this instead of buying pre-made branded filters.

Wow, there are still a few bargains left in this world. This oversized filter is definitely one of them. For starters, you get a giant activated carbon filter that's 4 feet long and 16 inches wide. This filter can be used for many purposes, but I bought it to cut and put in my air purifier. The pad is so big I cut it in half and gave the other half to my son to use in his air purifier. I took out my used branded air filter and placed it on top of this gasket and trimmed the used filter to fit…

Homemade air filtration system for the poor

We have no air conditioning or heating. We have a Hepa based air purifier at home. However, a way had to be found to filter the air entering the house. In this way you relieve the rather expensive HEPA filter and can breathe better air, even if it has not yet hit the HEPA filter. I ended up designing an inexpensive 4 piece filter system that attaches to a window and circulates filtered air throughout the house. The system consists of a replaceable screen material that filters out dust, pollen…
