main problem; This thing barely supports its own weight.

Main Problem; This thing barely supports its own weight on a vertical steel surface, I haven't dared to put my thermometer on it yet. "Magnetic attraction of 176 pounds" is highly doubtful. I work with them in a professional environment, I know very well how they should work. I guess half of that is on me for trying to save a buck but it's such a shame not to live up to the Β£176 advertised on the seller.

  • Our Part Number ALL-52502
Cons
  • No Machine

Made from Chinese.

Made in China. Everything about this product says "Poop Sandwich". This will work for my needs. The magnet is strong enough to hold it still for what I'm using it for. All sorts of movements and articulations are wobbly at best, but that's due to inferior plastic handles used as milk jug lids. The thing smelled of chemicals in the box and was smeared with oil. It's just annoying that there's no middle ground between professional looking tools and the complete crap you'd buy at a flea market…

Pros
  • Possibility of horizontal and vertical positioning.
Cons
  • unreliable

What I don't like about the design: I bought these to replace another dial indicator base that had an adjustable knob that tightened everything. With that I figured I could tighten one axle at a time. But no luck; The central knob adjusts the stiffness in two axes at the same time. What I don't like about the performance is that you have to tighten the plastic knobs to keep them from moving, but that makes fine tuning difficult. The metal parts that fit on the bars appear to be smaller than the

Pros
  • Magnetic Thrust: 176 lbs.
Cons
  • Not bad, but...
