What I don't like about the design: I bought these to replace another dial indicator base that had an adjustable knob that tightened everything. With that I figured I could tighten one axle at a time. But no luck; The central knob adjusts the stiffness in two axes at the same time. What I don't like about the performance is that you have to tighten the plastic knobs to keep them from moving, but that makes fine tuning difficult. The metal parts that fit on the bars appear to be smaller than the diameter of the bar, leading to over-tightening.
