Works great and holds the Firestik 2 very tight to my 08 FJ. I sanded the coating where it should make contact with the antenna. Would buy again.

Item fits and fits well but the cover is cheap. Came wrapped in 2 layers of bubble wrap in a small box. The mount was dented on the back and the dent was severe enough to mar the finish. Because it was wrapped in so much bubble wrap it leads me to believe the mount was dropped before it was packed and shipped. Must be sanded and repainted before installation. I might have just spent money on a real "Bundy Mount" if I had known it was going to be so popular.

Just received the kit including bracket, bolt and nut. The details looked ok. But there was a serious problem with the installation. The mounting space on the door hinge is very limited, but the latch is too short. Even without washers, the screw only reaches 1/3 of the nut thread. I don't feel comfortable fitting a 4 foot antenna to this mount. The screw definitely needs a washer as the screw threads are not fully screwed in. So I went to the hardware store and bought a longer bolt, nut and…

Everything went pretty easy. There is already a hole in the hinge for the screw to go through. a spot on the other side to hold the Mother. I ended up holding it with a pair of needle jaw vises. You can't get a wrench in the hole after you install it. If you don't have a 5/8" deep well, you can try installing the antenna mount before installing it the bracket. Haven't tried this so can't say if it works that way.. as a mount it's well made and feels pretty solid.
