This coloring book is very beautiful. Not only can you paint with pens or markers, you can also draw because the back of each page is glossy so it doesn't show through. The illustrations are not all tropical and Hawaiian. Some are heavenly or botanical. The pages are perforated and tear easily if you want to show one or two somewhere. My book arrived a little crumpled, which only affects the cover but not the pages inside.

Now I know you might look at this and think it's expensive for a coloring book. But it's huge. The paintings inside are unique and the quality of the paper is excellent. You can use any media on this paper and it won't bleed through. I'm not an artist, but this and some good pen brushes can make me feel like an artist for a while. This is a solid, well done book. Came in pickled packaging so there were no dents or bent corners. It's not a hard back, at least I wouldn't call it that as it has some flex. But it's strong enough not to worry about hitting and damaging the cover or pages. The pages feel thicker than usual, my markings aren't showing through. The binding is durable.
