I've tried using them with a permanent marker but they're too thin. This way you don't get good pressure on the edges of the stencil and the ink smears. There is no way to avoid this and the pressure you can apply is limited as they are too pin-like. So think carefully about pencil and paper, but not about using a marker or felt-tip pen.

As described. Perfect for marking my virgins' trash cans so they don't grow legs and walk. If you try to place it on a curved surface, the edge of the number won't lie perfectly flat. You will bleed a bit when you spray paint, I think you could work a bit and make it mostly flat. Everything is perfect on absolutely flat surfaces.

Works well but for those who have never worked with stencils before it would be nice to include a few tips. After writing dirty letters, I realized that first I had to lightly smudge the paint; Using a flat punch caused bleeding. And it would be better in either a cardboard envelope or a small box rather than a flimsy plastic bag. But it worked, albeit sloppily, because I'm not very good at drawing.

Once upon a time I made a carpet for my husband. While I wish I'd bought more than one set (because some of the words I stenciled had the same letter), they were the perfect thickness and strength for my purposes. I used acrylic paint and they clean up well for future use. I glued the letters together for each word so I appreciated that they were separate and not on the same sheet.
