They tend to lack bass, but are very crisp.

They generally lack bass, but the sound is very clear. If you play bass then this product is not for you if you don't have other products for your bass. I also have an amp and subwoofer for bass so I appreciate the clarity of these speakers and can't beat the price.

Perfect for money and size.

Great little speaker. Then in Le Havre I hooked up a 100W/CH 4ch amp and was worried they couldn't handle that much power as they are only rated for 40W RMS but they sound great. No distortion at all. They don't have much bass, but I have a 10" subwoofer connected to a separate mono amp and they sound great.

No One Beats Car Stereo

I used to have inexpensive speakers that sounded better than these. It's really not bad. They have enough bass for 6.5 and good treble. but something about them seems so flat. They'll work with a $400 Sony head unit and polarity correct, but there's nothing special about them. I won't buy it again and will probably trade it for something better.

  • Great Price

Good but not overly impressed with sound or quality

I replaced some worn out speakers in an old van with these. They were a little tricky to install due to the location of the mounting holes relative to the old speakers. The sound quality was nowhere near as good as the old OEM car speakers (before they wore out) and these speaker cones didn't last very well. They served the purpose of the extra year or so that I drove the old car (until one of the cones cracked or started to delaminate), but I wouldn't recommend them.

Pros
  • Decent performance
Cons
  • Clarity

Perfect replacement for the stock speakers on my 2009 Corolla.

A solid replacement for the stock 2009 Corolla front speakers, but you will need a 6.5" plastic speaker adapter/spacer for approx. I can't speak for others). Also, it didn't come with a wired adapter/jack like usual when buying speakers so I had to solder the wires together to get it working. You can also buy an adapter/socket for around $10. what is mentioned in the description or in the contents of the box but is not included.

Sounds damn good with amp

Pros: Sounds damn good with amp. Cons: Sounds terrible without an amp. bought these. They absolutely outperform everything else in this price range. I bought these for my girlfriend's heir to replace the standard non-amplified speakers. I thought it would still sound good just a little too weak. God, I was wrong - the stocks sounded 2 times better, and this is absolute garbage. There was no mid-bass and weak highs. I returned these speakers as I had no plans to buy an amp (yes I'm cheap). But…

Bass? Which bass? in coaxial speaker

I have a 2003 Dodge Dakota and one of the original speakers in the front doors recently died. To be honest, I don't expect much from my truck speakers. I mostly listen to podcasts and after 40 years of flying airplanes my hearing is still shot through. However, I am not impressed by the Alpine basses. Even compared to the remaining and still running OEM speakers, the SXE's bass is almost non-existent. Whilst I was planning on changing a pair I will now just replace the failed OEM speaker and…

Don't listen to the negative reviews, they must want that nickel nickel boom boom. This is a great speaker replacement. If you're paying for these speakers and expecting a little more then you're being cheap and deserve the trouble you're causing yourself. These speakers fill my BMW with lots of sound and are powered by the stock head unit! Want that rear glass shattering with bass? buy sub They're great for what they are and are solid replacements. I inspected these speakers last week and…
