It is halfway between Escalante and Thorin. Slightly narrower in the forefoot but wide enough to splay your toes. Great addition.

These are great shoes and I plan on ordering them again but this pair is DEFINITELY worn! They have yellow-green spots all over them and the soles are pretty dirty. I am setting up returns and plan to use credit towards backorders.

old feet, plantar fascia, bruised and vulnerable but they feel great. makes my calf a little tight just needs more stretch but overall great for my old tired beat down feeling. also help to better align your lower back, that's all.

I love the shoes and wanted them to live up to my expectations. However, the shoe was too tight and I had to send it back. These are beautiful shoes and they are very light.

Carry them everywhere. Gym, random runs and all. 3rd pair of altrs and they fit my foot perfectly - arch is higher, quite narrow. Feet would be numb on other brands, but the wider toe box accommodates but doesn't slide so it doesn't feel sloppy.

Finding the right shoes has always been difficult. Fingers never had enough room to unfold as they should. I am sure that I will buy Altra shoes again and probably for the rest of my life. love these shoes

Was so excited to get this shoe for my husband as he loves this brand. He chose a blue size 10.5 and black shoes came in a size 8.5!Where's the quality control?!?!?

I'm not usually a huge Altra fan but I was curious and loved this new shoe and the store liked it so much I bought it. 100 miles later I couldn't be happier! I like the wide toe box with extra padding on the tongue and heel. It's just so convenient. Smart shoes that match the ad. Great shoes!

Escalante lover is here. Three pairs deep. I tried the Rivera because it's significantly cheaper than the Escalante these days, and I was curious. Only two runs so far but the feel is very similar and as advertised. This is an Escalante with a thicker sole. Still beautiful and alive. You still feel the way It's the same feeling of falling. Order half a size larger than you normally wear. The wider toe box is a game changer. I had ankle, calf and foot problems after years of running, training and hard work. This shoe is very comfortable and has helped relieve foot and calf pain after long runs. The last sneakers I will buy.

One review said it was a good replacement for the Escalantes, which have been my favorite running shoe for the past few years. They're stiffer than the Escalante but appear to be made with a more durable upper. That's not a compromise I would make.

I like them so much I bought a second pair. I only walk Altra Lone Peaks so when I first started running it was easy to try them out and they didn't disappoint. Altra fan!

Altra's quality no longer exists. This pair fell apart after 100 miles. The outsole came off after 70 miles and the insert wore out after 100 miles.

Loose fit around the ankles, even with laces through all the openings. There seems to be too much material on the tongue. Just not very suitable compared to the Escalante

I bought running shoes online for the first time and bought a size that fits in size at any home sporting goods store. My 9.5 now I can try them on, I see I need 10.5 maybe 11 for them to fit comfortably. Nothing in the reviews even indicates that they are smaller compared to other brands.

I ran the last 800+ miles in these shoes in about 7 months. I found them very comfortable and generally quite durable. Still walking in them at 8 months, excited to see how they go a little further on this journey, although looking a little muddy and sad at the moment. I've been running in Altra shoes since 2014, this is probably one of my favorite Altra running shoes.

My husband was looking for comfortable sneakers/shoes and our GP suggested these. He said they are a little pricey but worth it. He was right! I'm ordering another pair in a different color.

Altra is the only shoe that has helped me get rid of my chronic plantar fasciitis. These are the most comfortable shoes I've ever worn. I highly recommend them if you are struggling with plantar fasciitis.
