Comfortable, light shoes with the ability to spread your fingers.

I really like these shoes as they have helped relieve my recurring symptoms of metatarsalgia. However, they don't last long. My first pair wore out pretty quickly, so I'm giving them four stars instead of five.

  • Best in its niche

Happy Feet in Athletic

I love these shoes. Fits well out of the box. I just wish they had better color choices. White color on all shoes... except super soft options. I never understood the white color on shoes used for outdoor activities. Five stars if they had more "street" colors without the white.

Pros
  • Slim design
Cons
  • Unbelievable price

Great for my wet concrete and cobblestone world

These are my second Altras and I love them as much as the Escalante I started with. I bought these for the rainy season because the sole "looked" like it could handle wet surfaces well, and it does. Boot-to-boot level traction isn't exactly razor sharp, but close enough for my needs (steep hills and slippery concrete). I like this fit a bit more as my foot is more pinched. In the Escalantes I sometimes felt my foot squirm in the shoes, but not in these - the foot remains stable without feelingโ€ฆ

Comfortable, well-appointed legroom.

Size 13.6'4", 210 lbs, casual runs approx 12-15 miles a week. Happy with this shoe. Reminds me of an early generation Brooks Pure Cadence. Fairly low ride with ample padding for comfort and protection. The upper is made of stretchy mesh material, provides a snug, secure fit and feels more durable than other mesh shoes. The shoe lining is soft, stretchy, comfortable on the foot. The toe box is not so big like other Altras I've worn (Superior, Lone Peak) but perfect for me, wide enough without playโ€ฆ

Pros
  • Very good value
Cons
  • Expensive

Oh honestly Altra just brought me back

Longtime Altra Escalante fan but I've always had issues with the pad being too spongy and the tip too wide sorry Altra but I still prefer street shoes . I just tried the Saucony Kinvarna again but quickly remembered why I prefer the zero drop and wide toe box. I just got the Rivera and it has everything that Altra is good at and has adapted to what I didn't like a bit about their Escalante. The first run right out of the box was perfect. I'm looking forward to settling in and moving a goodโ€ฆ

These shoes are perfect! 5 Stars!

I love these shoes. I've walked 4 and 8 meters in it and can't find anything wrong with it! Definitely my new running shoe! Please, I beg you again, please don't change anything with the Rivera! You all nailed it! I've been a huge Torin fan for years but these imos are MUCH better. I've also worn a few different roller skates in the past and they liked them, but they never lasted more than 100 miles or so. I feel like Rivera fits my foot perfectly. and pillows in place. It feels like they wereโ€ฆ

  • Perfect for outdoor activities

That's an interesting choice

This shoe replaces a very old Nike shoe (FS Lite Run 2) that I've been wearing for far too long. These Nikes had a very snug fit with a solid heel latch which I'm used to. However, my toes had a hole at the top, so I knew it was high time to replace them. with some constant heel pain (the Nikes I was in had a stack height of only 1/2 inch). Rivera definitely fits that description. It was important for me to switch back to zero drop shoes as I tend to land on my midfoot/heel and a positive dropโ€ฆ
