Longtime Altra Escalante fan but I've always had issues with the pad being too spongy and the tip too wide sorry Altra but I still prefer street shoes . I just tried the Saucony Kinvarna again but quickly remembered why I prefer the zero drop and wide toe box. I just got the Rivera and it has everything that Altra is good at and has adapted to what I didn't like a bit about their Escalante. The first run right out of the box was perfect. I'm looking forward to settling in and moving a good distance. I will let you know if anything changes. Despite some feedback from die-hard Altra fans saying it's too narrow, my first impression is that it's an impressive zero-drop shoe with a wide toe box. Keep walking!
