Pillow too narrow and too big. The picture shows a cushion, but the actual shoe is raised about 3 inches. I have wide legs. So narrow shoes and many pillows made the shoes unsafe.

If you're used to more neutral Altra shoes like the Escalante, this is a whole different beast. I love the zero fall feel, but due to pain and aging I decided to try their stability line. The midsole is too narrow and my heel slipped a lot. The shoe feels bulky and a little heavy, but I was willing to ignore that knowing it was a stable shoe. In the end I sent them back. The narrow midsole and heel slip wouldn't cut it. Again, I love Altra, but stability shoes aren't their forte.

I order Altra because of the extended tip. I need a room especially in height. Anyone with a big toe that curves up rather than down knows how painful shoes that press on the toe can be. The style I usually buy is no longer available. I tried them based on photos and reviews. It is NOT the same room as my other Altria. I've squished a couple of stretchers into the toe box and am hoping this will increase the height of the toe box so they're more comfortable.

Very comfortable shoes. However, after a few weeks the sole started to fall apart. Numerous attempts by the seller remained unanswered and unsuccessful.

Having tried a few other versions of the Altra, this shoe is wide enough for the ball of the foot and toe to fit snugly. I had a previous pair of Altras and found that some of the ones I was looking to replace were narrower in the toe box. This variant worked.

I would advise you to order shoes 1/2 size larger than you normally wear. I like them except they fit my left foot a bit. The Zero Drop platform promotes proper running form, reducing the risk of strain or injury.

I've been wearing these shoes for several years now. I love them, but they should be replaced more often than any other shoe. They're expensive when it counts. Otherwise they are great!

Shoes are a subjective thing. I'm a 50 year old big guy who survived a couple of brutal fights with PF. For now, I can get away with Hoka or Altras. I like how the hokas feel, the toe box could be wider but they look a bit silly. Altra Paradigm is the best I've found. In others I wear baggy pants, but here I avoid the standards, just increase the size by 1/2. The heel cup is tight which fixes my foot. The sock may look bulky, but it looks great.
