Good product for the price. I wanted to use it to photograph Chinese lanterns at night. This worked well for landscape images, but there were many images that required portrait orientation. The monopod head must also be rotated to allow the user to tilt to an upright position. I understand that it costs more, but it costs extra. A monopod with a horizontal orientation is only of limited use in real photography.

Best Buy Best in Camera & Photography

This monopod is amazingly strong, light and stable (I use it with my APS-C Fuji X cameras). I topped it off with a small Benro ball head and QR plate so it's eye level when the three sections are deployed. I never lengthen the bottom, thinnest part, unlike the guy in the picture here at Revain. (In other words, I only open the top three leg locks, not the fourth.) When I first got it, the top section was a little tight and wouldn't move, but it loosened up with regular use. WD-40 is not…

I definitely recommend this item!

Received my order yesterday! And of course I had to get out on the road and take a test drive. And so far I'm so happy with it. At first I was afraid that my camera would be too heavy for it, but no, it's really solid, even when I open it all the way it's just as solid. Also, all 4 clips are strong and one thing I didn't do was down, it has a little tip but with a little twist it pulls out to become a full rubber piece when you need extra grip e.g. I am very happy with my purchase and…

Very light, neatly foldable.

Folds up nice and short, that's what I was looking for. It is very light, which also creates a feeling of fragility. But you shouldn't use something like that for zombie protection or something like that. It does an excellent job of supporting the main camera. And it comes with two different mounting screws just in case your camera has custom mounting hole. Briefly on the leg, which I really liked. It has a rubber foot that can either close or open the metal anchor cone. So you can use the…

Fits in an airplane saddlebag

I was just in Alaska. I have two other monopods, both stronger than this one, but also longer and heavier when folded. My travel camera gear was an Olympus Micro 4/3rds and this monopod has served me very well. I wanted one that would fly with me on the plane so I could keep all my camera gear together. Since it shrinks to just over 16 inches, I gave this one a try. He easily met all of my expectations. I had a small ball head in my pocket and after using the monopod for a few minutes it was…

Look it's cheap. But. It should work fine for many people

First of all, always remember that this is a really cheap monopod. However, it should be very comfortable for many people with smaller cameras. , all mirrorless and of course some DSLRs, nothing with super telephoto lenses or a lot of accessories. Some important parts are plastic fasteners, they look ok but I would treat them with care. The last step is slightly thicker than the mark. The lower leg expands or retracts, revealing the spine, the spine is not removed. The 1/4 mount is fixed and…

Only in use for a few months and can't stand it

UPDATED 6/2021 IN CAPITAL LETTERS: DID NOT KEEP MY CAMERA NOW. NEVER HEARD FROM SELLER. GIVE ONE STAR BECAUSE SELLER SHOULD HAVE AT LEAST COMMUNICATION. DO NOT BUY FROM THEM IF YOU CANNOT ANSWER. NOT YEAR AND NOT OLD WITH LIMITED USE. READ BELOW. Frustrated that what is supposed to hold/protect your camera isn't working. Would never buy this again. I put my lens/camera on it, open it and it slowly sinks to where I can't shoot. It decayed and didn't last more than a month. I don't have a high…

Quality bezel at a bargain price.

Altura Monopod - August 2021: This sturdy pole is way better than I expected, especially considering the price. For older people like me with slightly trembling hands, this helps with telephoto and low-light shots. Specifically, it screws into the bottom of my camera while my hand holds a foam grip. That's a solid feeling. Extension clasps snap/click and open/close clearly. The tube extensions are grooved so they don't rotate but slide in and out smoothly. The rubber foot extends to cover the…

OK Budget Occasional Use Monopod

I think this monopod works best with mirrorless cameras and/or at less than full height. I had trouble using it with a 75-300mm zoom lens on my Canon mirrorless, nor did I find it very stable when used at full height. This is much more convenient when using my smaller and lighter kit lens. This was a big problem for me because I wanted to do some long exposures in the forest on a cloudy day. An unstable monopod meant unwanted blur. The design is normal for this price range. I think with proper…
