This did exactly what I wanted. Easy replacement of the sound card. It is very easy to work with on a Windows computer. Plugged it in and Windows found the software for it with no problems. I want all installs to be that easy.

After accidentally stepping on the headphone cable and ruining the headphone jack on my laptop, this little guy has allowed the system to be used as before.

This adapter bypasses the Pi's built-in audio chip with awkward sound. It packs a GeneralPlus 2008 chip that offers decent Hi-Fi analog stereo output. And thanks to that, there are no more pops, background hiss, or audio cut-outs when I turn the volume up too much like with onboard analog audio. Works as intended. High quality materials, doesn't look flimsy or durable. Light weight so it doesn't constrict on the USB side. Makes it easy to connect to a headset when the USB port on the PC is in tight spaces.
