Some Skills Required for Build/Initialization

After researching Revain and discovering some interesting toys, I decided it was time to check out M.2 SSD devices, both SATA and PCIe. . I chose the DMLIANKE case to experiment with portable SSDs and found it very interesting. It comes with instructions and a tiny Phillips head to access the two screws on each end. I noticed that the instructions that came with the device are different than the instructions on the Revain site. The Revain page was more accurate. Trying to remove the original…

  • Highest Support and Durability Scores from Testers
Cons
  • For Seniors

It fulfills its function during assembly without much difficulty.

You are dealing with VERY SMALL screws. Both ends of this device will detach/open and you will slide the M.2 drive board out of the black chamber surrounding the drive board and the M.2 drive you will be installing on it. It comes with all the necessary small parts (this REQUIRES a small screwdriver as the screws you remove to open the case on either end are very small and VERY EASY TO LOST. I suggest using a small white washcloth to clean the assembly And remount the drive those little screws…

Pros
  • Comfortable
Cons
  • Not as thick as other picks

Didn't work on USB-C/Thunderbolt 3 ports

This is the second one I bought because the first one was just great. favorite form factor. The first (blue) works fine on all ports of the same machine. I'm sending this one back because most of the time it doesn't work with the USB-C port. Sometimes it is, but it's not reliable. I swapped M.2 SSDs and various cables (USB 3.1 Gen 1, Gen 2, TB3, etc.) and localized the problem on the device itself. Interestingly, both devices have the same PCB and printed version, so there's clearly something…

Pros
  • Delivery was very fast
Cons
  • Definitely bad product

Very good way to use your 'old/replaced' SSD

Great product that looks and works exactly as advertised. Beautiful aluminum body and 9.5 inch USB-C to USB 3.0 connector. It would have been nice to have a USB-C to USB-C adapter with me, but I have those, so no problem. SATA drive after removing it from a laptop. This worked great - removed 2 end screws, popped out the interface, put in an old M.2 SATA SSD, put the interface back into the case, replaced the 2 screws and done - took about 5 minutes - last photo above. transferred some files…

Pros
  • Quick replacement
Cons
  • Legacy model

Doesn't work with 850 evo or I was sent the wrong item.

I ordered this case for my M.2 SATA EVO 850. According to the description it should work fine as it is from B+M. Also, according to the description, it does NOT support PCIe. After I installed EVO it didn't work. I've tried it on 2 Windows 10 PCs and a Windows 7 laptop and nothing. Disk Management couldn't find the drive either. The drive works well when connected to an m.2 motherboard. Looking at the case itself, it appears to be different than what is advertised here. Looks like PCIe. (No M+B

Pros
  • Great product
Cons
  • Something is wrong

nice form factor; reliable enough

I loaded a few of these with WD Blue 3D NAND 1TB M.2 drives. They're fast enough (385Mbps write, 410Mbps read) and low enough power consumption that you can use one of them on a USB-C hub along with the iPhone or iPad you're transferring media to . The size is quite small, making them easy to hide in a bag or behind a MacBook on an airplane table. They get pretty hot when transferring large amounts of data (hundreds of GB) but the aluminum casing helps them cool down very quickly. quickly…

Pros
  • Done
Cons
  • Too long to wait

I wanted to use this to clone my internal M.2 SSD to a larger one. The adapter board was difficult to remove from the case. When I installed a new M.2 SSD on the board included in the case, it didn't go in. I stopped before it got halfway because I was worried about damaging the SSD chips. I removed the SSD from the board and watched as I tried reinstalling the adapter. The M.2 SSD slot hit the top of the case while rebounding. I used a cable detached from the case and an adapter board to do…

Pros
  • Brilliantly done
Cons
  • Annoying

Great Build Quality + Incredible Speed = MEH

Pros: Compact, durable build quality (if you step on it you'll be fine) and comes with everything you need to get started. Cons: God, those low speeds are unforgivable! 43MB/s read and 39MB/s write. Are you kidding me? Why so many positive reviews?! If all you care about is aesthetics, this will definitely pass. Small, light, durable. potentially perfect. I've included images of my Crystal Disk Mark speeds and two other images to show what the drive is capable of, along with its big brother…

Pros
  • Finally Purchased
Cons
  • Legacy Model
