So far I've only used it for cutting CNC cast acrylic. However, he has done a great job every time. Cut quickly and smooth as butter. Even after the words, I was completely satisfied with the finish. I had no chips or cracks at all. I can't say anything about the standing time yet. Although there is no feeling that he has lost his sharpness. And I've cut over 30 sets of these now. So it's safe to say I'll buy it again when it wears out.
I really like how this bit cuts aluminum composites and acrylic. I had to slow down the feed and speed on the acrylic but it still cuts great. I only consider spiral O-grooves as semi-finished bits because they don't seem to make the right finished size unless I make 3 or 4 passes, each one getting close to the right size. I usually just make one pass with a spiral O-shaped single groove and then another pass with a double groove flat cutter which gives me the right size fine cut. These bitsβ¦
After the pandemic I was unable to use my local laser cutter workstation. Laser cutting acrylic produces very smooth lines, but I was also a little concerned about burning through the plastic more than necessary. Add these concerns and CNC cutting at home becomes the obvious alternative. I thought $40 was a lot for a cutting attachment, but so far it's working really well.
